Training providers offer a range of training opportunities
These training courses usually lead to vocational (job-related) qualifications
They also include the chance to improve your English and maths, sometimes called functional skills. Some offer a range of work areas from which to choose, others specialise in training for one or two work areas. Many offer apprenticeships, some also offer traineeships both of which will include working on employer's premises.
A few specialise in pre-entry courses for students who, for a range of reasons, are not yet ready to decide what work sector they want to do or who may not be ready to go out on an extended placement with an employer.
Some training providers also offer full-time vocational courses leading to a qualification, mainly at Level 1, although a few also offer Levels 2 and 3. The courses may start at different times of year.
