*Askham Bryan College’s Saltaire campus, next to Shepley College, still has some places left for September 2020 starts on its Level 2 Animal Care and Level 3 Animal Management courses (272kb PDF). - Aspire-Igen - Updated 21 July 2020
Aspire-Igen is opening for new and existing learners remotely in August and into it’s centre at the beginning of September. New applications are open via its online applications - contact C&K Chat - see bottom of the page for help. Courses on offer:
- Level 1 diploma in employability - it includes units giving an overview of business, childcare, and health and social care, as well as employability and personal development skills that will help you move on to employment and/or to further learning – there are also
- Introductory diploma in business Level 1, no entry requirements
- Diploma in business support Level 2, no entry requirements
- Diploma in introducing caring for children and young people Level 2, no entry requirements
- Certificate in childcare Level 3, must have English GCSE grade 4 minimum
- Extended diploma in health & social Care Level 2, no entry requirements
- Certificate in health & social care Level 3 , must have English GCSE grade 4 minimum
- Functional skills and GCSE English and maths
Courses are roll on roll off throughout the year. Placements will depend on your needs. Attendance is flexible depending on your needs, up to 22.5 hours a week.

Still offering apprenticeships even though recruitment has slowed down a little. Babington will help you register by taking your details and helping you update your CV, so your application is ready to go when companies begin recruiting again. Help with interview technique will also be offered. See the Babington website for details of the apprenticeships on offer - view the apprenticeship programme of interest to you then click on Become an apprentice and fill in the online form, which will then get sent through to the right person.

The chartered accountant has offices in Sheffield, Chesterfield, Cleckheaton, Leeds and York, and is recruiting students with A levels or expecting results in August, into its trainee accountancy and taxation vacancies in all five offices. The college is still accepting applications for apprenticeships, apply online only.
The college will be conducting interviews online and will be in touch with applicants directly explaining the process. Students will be contacted directly by the admissions team with details, including date, time and method. The college will be making conditional offers, based on applicants meeting the course entry requirements. Currently the college expects enrolment to be 20 August but any changes to this will be notified. The marketing team is supporting students with relevant course information to educate, inform and reassure them.

Offering free taster sessions to give new learners a better insight into its apprenticeships. The sessions are live and are taken from Estio's apprenticeship programmes and delivered remotely by its trainers. Each session will last about 30 minutes and will be run on Microsoft Teams. Interested applicants should apply online, complete the short application form and attempt the seven online modules. JTL will then guide the applicant through its recruitment process, which involves a short telephone discussion and a colour blindness test. Students should still apply to the college, using the online application form. The apprenticeship recruitment team will then pick this up and try and help you find an employer. To help the college contact you and for the college to make an offer, you should include your your predicted or actual grades, and where you have one, an email address and a mobile phone number - remember to keep checking your email and text messages.
The college is making conditional offers where it can but some students may need a telephone interview before an offer can be made, the college will contact you to arrange this.

- Stubbing Court Training Ltd - 4 May 2020
Still going ahead with the recruitment of apprentices. Anyone accepted for interview over the telephone should have been contacted by the end of April.
Following government guidance on apprenticeships and grading, Syngenta has advised candidates that predicted grades will be considerd, as well as telephone interview performance for its selection of new recruits. The WYF&RS and Prince's Trust are running their Digital eight-week programme (1.85MB JPG). It starts Monday 29 June 2020. You should be aged between 16 and 25 and either just finishing Year 11 or not currently in education or employment. The programme is online but you will also produce a physical folder of work and gain a Level 1 in Personal Development and Employability Skills. It includes
- future career planning
- digital skills development
- supporting the community (from a distance with a focus on Covid-19)
- health and wellbeing sessions including live fitness classes with fire service staff
- personal development and self-management skills to support your own mental health and build resilience

*Woodspeen is now runing a new traineeship programme for 16 to 18 year olds in Kirklees. The traineeship will include being in the training centre for four months, followed by a two month work placement with an employer. The following subject areas are available:
- Health and social care
- Business admin
- Hair and barbering
To start on the traineeship, you will NOT yet have a level 2 in maths and English (that means you do NOT have a GCSE grade 4 or above in one or both) and you do NOT already have a Level 3 qualification. As part ot the traineeship, Woodspeen will be delivering remote sessions in:
- Employability and interview skills
- Functional skills (maths and English)
- Mental health awareness
- Staying safe (safeguarding and prevent)

When you can attend the centre again, the training will include both classroom and remote training sessions to help you get ready for employment.
